The Right People For The Job
The Healthcare Leadership Inventory provides two independent report formats. The Selection Report has been designed to focus on the "fit" of a candidate and provides accurate, objective information to those involved with the selection process. The Development Report has been designed for incumbent Leaders. The Feedback Report prescribes specific suggestions to improve each individual’s three lowest-ranked competencies and assist them in creating a Developmental Action Plan.
Selection
Interviews, resumes, and references reveal a limited amount of information regarding a candidate’s leadership potential.
The HLI Selection Report measures competencies that have been identified as being critical to successful job performance for Healthcare Leaders. The HLI allows you to evaluate job performance in advance of your selection decision.
Selection Report includes:
- Three Job Fit Indices comparing each candidate to successful Leaders.
- Individual "scores" for each of the ten competencies.
- Custom-written, behavioral-based interview questions are generated for "low" scores.
- Structured, behavioral-based interview guides are provided for each candidate. The interview questions are tailored for a specific Leadership level (Front-Line Leader or Leader).
Promotion
Historically, individuals have been promoted based on technical expertise. Sometimes this is effective, but not always.
Effective Leaders must possess competencies beyond technical expertise. The HLI provides an overview of a Leader’s potential by evaluating ten Leadership competencies deemed critical to the success of Leaders within the Healthcare environment.

The HLI Developmental Report allows you to identify the strengths and weaknesses of your Leadership Team on an individual basis. The HLI provides an objective analysis of ten Leadership competencies. The feedback report provides information and prescriptive suggestions to develop an effective Developmental Action Plan.
Development Report includes:
- A forced ranking of ten Leadership competencies.
- Identification of the employee’s strengths and developmental opportunities.
- Specific behaviors to improve on-the-job performance.
- Specific prescriptive suggestions to assist in ongoing growth and development.
- The ability to customize the feedback and "map" developmental prescriptions to Hospital-specific training resources.
